Professional experience:

Hilary’s breadth of experience in the care and conservation of historic buildings has been drawn from both public and private sectors. She has contributed to works for the government and private practices in London and Yorkshire, and has held a term appointment as Senior Architect with HM Royal Household for works related to the occupied royal palaces in London and at Windsor Castle. 

As Senior Conservation Architect for the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea her responsibilities included the care and protection of listed buildings, most notably the South Kensington Museums, advising on good conservation practice, and acting as an expert witness for planning appeals relating to the historic fabric. 

Hilary has served as member of the RIBA Conservation Architecture Group, the RIBA Conservation Register Steering Group, the Georgian Group Casework Panel, and as a trustee of the Kensington Society.
